Biography
Miss Mahi is an accomplished dance instructor with over 9 years of professional experience across a diverse range of contemporary and cultural dance styles. Recognized for her versatility, her teaching repertoire at 8count spans Heels, Trends, Urban, and our Tiny Dancers program, bringing an infectious energy and meticulous focus on technique to students of all ages.
Her artistic journey includes advanced training at the Rock Dance Academy in Tehran and intensive international development, highlighted by a two-week residency at Fabrika Dance Camp in Turkey, learning from world-renowned icons Yanis Marshall, Brian Friedman, and Jade Chynoweth. Committed to continuous growth, Miss Mahi has also trained at the Yahala Festival Dance Camp in Dubai with legendary dancers Dina, Olga, and Najla, alongside ongoing development under top European instructors.
Beyond the classroom, Miss Mahi is a sought-after choreographer, known for creating bespoke wedding tango routines that bring elegant storytelling to couples' special days. Whether leading a large group class or coaching a private session, she is dedicated to helping every dancer find their unique style, confidence, and precision.

Biography
Mr Yousuf is an internationally accomplished ice dance and skate dancing instructor at 8count Dance Company, merging high-performance athletic mastery with the elegance, rhythm, and musicality of dance. As a multi-discipline skating athlete representing the Sultanate of Oman on the global stage, he brings an extraordinary depth of technical precision, speed mechanics, and creative movement to our studio.
Yousuf’s athletic career is decorated with major international titles across ice and roller sports. A proud member of the Oman National Ice Hockey Team, he famously powered the national squad to 1st place and championship gold at the 3rd International Tatneft ADIHIC Cup in Kazan, Russia. Demonstrating rare multi-sport versatility, he also claimed 1st place at the Saudi Arabia Skate Ball Championship, secured an elite 5th place ranking at the Roll Ball World Championship, and took a podium 3rd place bronze at the International Speed Skating Championship in Belarus.
At 8count, Mr Yousuf channels his world-class speed, balance, and edge control into accessible, energetic, and inspiring classes for all ages. Whether introducing beginners to their first glides or mentoring advanced 8counters through complex spins, footwork routines, and rhythm skating sequences, his coaching empowers every student to move with poise, confidence, and effortless flow.

DJ Ash brings over 15 years of extensive experience as an international DJ and sound engineer, having performed at top venues across Oman, Dubai, and East Africa. Beyond the turntables, his background in business management and sound engineering allows him to bridge the gap between creative musical expression and flawless event execution. His thrives when blending diverse music genres and he is routinely acclaimed for his ability to keep crowds energized through seamless transitions and creative mixing.
He is an energetic musical advocate who works to transform events into high-energy, memorable nights. His approach to DJing is deeply intuitive: he relies on his responsive listening and ability to read audiences to curate the perfect energetic atmosphere. Indeed, his connection to music spans multiple roles from radio presenter to songwriter, giving him a holistic understanding of rhythm and tempo.
At 8count, DJ Ash is excited to pass on his extensive knowledge to the next generation of musical talent. In addition to his role as Resident DJ, he offers comprehensive DJ courses for those aspiring to learn the craft. Biography
Dr Andie was Principal of the Terpsichore Dance Troupe within the University of Cambridge for almost 12 years. Beyond dance, she has experience across multiple business sectors, allowing her to bridge the gap between creative expression and commercially realistic execution.
Her heart beats for traditional dance and she has a special passion for the rich heritage of Omani dance styles including the Al-Bar'a, the Al-Ayyala and the martial elegance of the Razha. Dr Andie is an ardent cultural advocate and works around the world as a proponent for dance's role as a powerful medium for understanding our shared human story and fostering cross-cultural connections. Indeed, her own connection to dance is deeply personal: it was through dance that she met her partner!
Ultimately, she is driven by a fascination with the profound connection between the human voice and our natural impulse to move. Research suggests that our unique ability to dance is a beautiful "side effect" of the neural wiring required for speech, meaning that humans are quite literally built to synchronise with a beat.
She sees her role in 8count as a celebration of this biological gift which lets us use rhythm and movement to bond deeply whilst expressing what words alone cannot.
