Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 24/02/2026
This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions. At 8count Dance Company, we operate on a monthly enrolment basis. Because our class sizes are limited and instructors are scheduled based on confirmed attendance, we adhere to the following refund policy which is strictly observed. In making a payment, you agree with this policy.
1. Annual Membership Fee
As per Section 2.1 of our Terms and Conditions, the annual membership fee of OMR 10 is paid to activate your membership. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of the number of classes attended during the year.
2. Monthly Tuition (Group Lessons)
Tuition for group lessons is paid monthly in advance and is due on or before the first session of each month.
- General Policy: 8count operates a strict no-refund policy for missed lessons, partial attendance, or withdrawal from the programme mid-month.
- Limited Refund Exception: A refund for a monthly tuition payment may only be considered if a written cancellation request is received at least 7 days prior to the first session of the new month. In such cases, a refund may be issued minus a 10% administration fee.
- Mid-Month Withdrawals: No refunds or credits are provided if a student decides to stop attending classes once the month has commenced.
3. Private Lessons
Fees for private coaching must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Cancellations: If you cancel a private lesson with more than 24 hours' notice, the fee may be credited toward a future session.
- Late Notice: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or "no-shows," are non-refundable and cannot be credited.
4. Attendance and Missed Classes
- Student Absence: As our overheads remain the same regardless of attendance, we do not offer refunds or pro-rated fees for lessons missed due to illness, travel, or school commitments.
- Make-up Lessons: At the discretion of management, a student may be permitted to attend a make-up class in a session of a similar ability level within the same calendar month.
5. Term Break and Holidays
8count scheduled classes follow a monthly cycle. No refunds or fee reductions are provided for months containing a term break or public holidays, as the monthly fee is averaged across the annual dance calendar.
6. Camps and Special Events
Bookings for term break camps, intensive workshops, or parties are considered final.
- Refunds are only issued if 8count cancels the event.
- If a student cannot attend a camp, a credit may be offered only if the spot can be filled by another student from the waiting list.
7. Studio Cancellations
In the rare event that 8count Dance Company must cancel a session (e.g., facility issues or instructor emergency):
- We will first attempt to provide a qualified substitute.
- If a substitute is unavailable, we will schedule a make-up session.
- If a make-up session cannot be offered, a credit for that specific class will be applied to the following month's tuition.
8. Uniforms and Costumes
- Clothes & Kit: Items purchased from our shop are non-refundable once worn. Exchanges for size may be made within 14 days if the item is in original condition with tags attached.
- Performance Costumes: Fees for costumes are non-refundable once the order has been placed with the supplier.
9. Extenuating Circumstances
In exceptional cases of prolonged illness or injury (exceeding three consecutive weeks), management may consider a partial credit toward future months. All such requests must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a valid medical certificate.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the 8count management team in writing.
